The South Island comprises some of the most spectacular, dramatic and outstandingly beautiful landforms on the entire planet. Being a young land geologically, much of the Island is still in its pristine natural state. This amazing environment is also home to intriguing wildlife and the most exciting adventure activities.

Within just a few hours’ drive of each other, you can experience almost every variety of the world’s scenic landscapes in just one destination - golden beaches, snow-capped alps, natural hot springs, cascading waterfalls, primeval forests, sun-bleached plains, ice-age glaciers, sea-sculpted coastlines, deep fiords, surging rivers, classical lakes, sunken volcanic harbours, idyllic inlets and bays, bush-clad islands, and undulating green hills. All this is complemented by exciting cities and bustling towns where New Zealanders take pride in providing the highest quality service and genuine hospitality.

The South Island lifestyle is substantially influenced by this extravagance of nature and visitors are warmly encouraged to indulge their recreational passions for such things as golf, trout and salmon fishing, skiing and snowboarding, wine trails, boating, horse trekking, hiking and camping, or to embark on exciting challenges such as white-water rafting, bungy jumping, hot air ballooning, tandem skydiving, jetboating, hiking on glaciers, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, parapenting, canyoning and much more.

Expand your life experiences. Join us for a journey of discovery through the most diverse island on earth.
